I can still remember sitting on the floor of Actors Equity asking around for temp agency recommendations. I did not want to go out of town one more time and my unemployment was running out.

“There has got to be a better way to find a Survival Job” I thought… so I went home that night and created one.

Hi my name’s Michelle Dyer, and I created Survival Jobs for Actors.

Survival Jobs started out as a resource website. I researched all different types of survival jobs, the certification or requirements for each. But, it just wasn’t enough. We needed a real live job board. So, in November of 2010 we re-did the site and went live with the board!

How it works:

Employers can post a job opportunity to find great talent.

Actors can sign up HERE to get jobs e-mailed to them when they’re posted in their city.

Our Social Media Sites are hoppin’ so be sure to “like”, or follow us. You never know what deals you might see coming across your screen, or what hot tips you might learn. Yes, we are dedicated to helping you find a way to pay the rent, audition, and take class, but we can have a little fun in the process! Our mailing list is another great way to keep up to date with all that is going on in the Survival Jobs world.

I now play the role of the connector helping great companies and actors find each other for a symbiotic relationship.

Basically, I’m just really happy to help actors live the dream! Please let me know if you have suggestions on how to make the site and/or board any better. It’s here for you!
